We're clearly I love with Phlox. Given how seasonal and beautiful it is, this is not a surprise. In case you didn't know this long living perennial is hard and full of charm. And if you've zero'd in on what's local and growing right now you've probably already fallen for it, too!
From mid-summer to early fall this flower grow straight up and have a large, round cluster of little flowers that smell delicious. Phlox magically comes in lavender, orange, purple, pink, fuchsia and white. In addition to being a gorgeous cut flower for table arrangements and bouquets, for growers this bloom brings in the hummingbirds and the bees and butterflies. It's nector-licious!

Phlox Is A Wonderful Cut Flower
There's no denying Phlox is a part of any cottage garden, but it can be purchased from wholesalers and farmers as a cut stem for florist, too. It seems to last a long time and keep it's shape and sturdy-ness. It is considered to be one of the greatest fillers in the market. The little florets of soft petals complement any flower arrangement, wedding bouquet, or centerpiece. It is timeless and classic and comes in white, light pink, lavender, and dark pink shades.

Phlox Is Bonus In The Garden
There are annual varieties of this bloom but I mostly know it as a perennial. It creates a wonderful ground cover especially in spring. According to the Atlanta Botanical Garden, these flowers are a warm-weather staple in their gardens that grow up to four feet. They say, "you can't miss the showy, domed clusters of fragrant pink and white flowers from late spring to late summer. In bloom season, these phlox are a great location for pollinator photography – the bees and butterflies love these as much as Garden guests."

Phlox Is A Symbol
The little flowers on this bloom remind me of little stars. It is full of symbolism like sweet dreams and harmony. This flower gives the message of agreement that our souls are united. It's given to people that are close to your heart.

Phlox Is Grown In The USA
There are many local growers, in fact, Erin Champion has one right down the road from me here in Atlanta, Georgia called Posie Fields. Since I am being honest, it's her Phlox that inspired this post! I know there are at least four Certified American Grown Flower Farms (listed below) that offer this stem for florists and to mass markets like grocery stores for the consumer.

Phlox Is Affordable
According to Martha Stewart, the bouquet above includes Majolica spray roses and Patience, Kiera, and Pink Parasol garden roses with white stock, white astilbe, pink ranunculus, and blush bride phlox. According to the post Rose Wedding Bouquets for Every Budget-- from $100 to $500, "This bouquet really has just a sprinkling of roses, so it's not as rose-focused as a more expensive arrangement would be," Phlox is as pretty as it is practical. While softening the formal look of an all rose bouquet in this instance, it doesn't break the bank. And, that makes everyone happy!
