Colonial House of Flowers is a brand deeply rooted in nature and plant life within  family and friends. Our curated product assortment explores the boundaries of life lived outside (and in) with a globally conscious, love of family and gatherings and a point of view that is wholly our own.

 

We are based in Atlanta, Georgia.

 

Using nature, heart and history as a guide, we offer inspired seasonal solutions for creative working, gathering and team building for businesses to build their brands. The blend of experience and assortment helps build enduring community connections.

 

We donate to Made by Dyslexia, Atlanta Humane Society, University of Georgia, Decoding Dyslexia and RUMC Foundation because we believe the work they do is important.

Colonial House of Flowers was founded on the principals of how flower shops traditionally have been run but transitioned to the front of the floral industry by changing the business model. From there, we've changed to focus on businesses to strategically communicate marketing, public relations and team building strategies naturally, using flowers and plants. 

We value intention, meaning, education, honesty and relationships first and support our values with innovation and technology. We strive to empower you to build a business that includes garden inspired communication, design, techniques and products.

MEET CHRISTY GRINER HULSEY 

It Doesn't Have To Be Perfect To Be Beautiful.

Christy Griner Hulsey is the owner of Colonial House of Flowers. Using plants, flowers and a real story as her medium she specializes in intimate, high-end, bespoke, artistic corporate partnerships including florals and plants in restaurants, shops, businesses, workshops, homes and company photoshoots, showrooms and movie sets.

Christy travels the globe teaching sold-out workshops, helping businesses build the brands and sharing herself through her old-world, painterly, classic yet whimsical garden style arrangements that are all-her!

You can say that flowers found Christy. And, not other way around. After a successful career utilizing her degree from University of Georgia’s prestigious Grady School, the family flower shop came to her serendipitously. To keep it alive, she relied on the only resources she had mainly, a knowing found inside. Thankful for those days sent to the garden by her grandmother, she used a lot creativity and tenacity. Christy did it! 

Christy's gritty sense of story telling, honesty, authenticity, grace, and a bigger vision effortlessly translate into the magical world of flowers and plants, and small business. Her compositions drip with soulful details full of loose, wild texture and abandon with a respect for beauty in all stages of life are what make Christy one of the most sought after designers in Atlanta, the south, the country and the world. Her organically balanced, naturally humble, whimsically cheerful, peculiar approach to art and life help.  Believing good fun, strong women, genuine kindness, tight friendships and tough families are what make the world go around, she's original, loyal, tenacious and quiet at times.

Christy was named the 2017 Mayesh Design Star, UGA 40 Under 40, ranked  among UGA's Bulldog 100 Fastest Growing Businesses three years in a row. She's represented the USDA on a trade mission to China with American Grown Flowers and presented demonstrations at the legendary South American Rosaprima rose farm. She's partnered with the Atlanta Botanical Garden and Fox Theatre, the White House and the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, California.  Her floristry has been featured at the Expo-Flor Ecuador in Quito.
